Event ID: Mfehidk & McShield. MVT not working.

Hello Ex_Brit!

Before I create a new discussion I thought I'd would be a good idea to ask you about my problem because it shows something about mfehidk... After I successfully installed McAfee Virus Scan 2010 on my laptop (Windows XP Home SP3 with IE8 fully patched) the following error appeared in the event viewer repeatedly each time I start session:

Event ID: 516

Source: mfehidk

Type: Warning

Cathegory: (256)

User: N/A

Computer: MICROSOFT

Description: Process **\MCSHIELD.EXE pid (312) contains signed but untrusted code, but was allowed to perform a privileged operation with a McAfee driver.

I'd like to know if it is only me getting this "Warning" or if it is a bug in the new version. If not, can you tell me how to fix it? I never had any kind of problems when I was using the last version of McAfee.

I don't have any other antivirus, anti-alware software or similar installed.

My PC is clean of any kind of infection.

I'm using Wi-Fi.

I've already tried the hole install/uninstall process using Add/Remove Programs and McAfee Removal Tool and didn't help.

Hope you can tell me what to do.

Cheers,

The_Narc

I moved this to your own thread as it's a slightly different instance and shouldn't be happening.

I'll flag this as I haven't a clue in this instance why you should be getting this.

Event ID: Mfehidk & McShield. MVT not working.

Is there anybody who can tell me what to do? I'm worry about the fact that MVT is telling me that my system has 11 files missing when I've just installed the antivirus. Am I protected or not? Because McAfee shows me the event id even when I just open the main window of the AV.

Cheers,

Just VirusScan ir do you have the firewall installed as well?   Did MVT offer to fix the issues and did it succeed?

I already flagged this for attention but don't expect anyone to be in until tomorrow.

I also forgot to ask, is this installed from your account or the beta website?

Hello Ex_Brit,

I installed/uninstalled the product twice: Once with all the programs and the last one just the VirusScan and Anti-Malware. And the problem persist. MVT ask me to fix the hole 12 problems but just fix 1. I download it from my account.

Hope so, meanwhile, can you change the title of my thread to:

Event ID: Mfehidk & McShield. MVT not working.

Is it possible? Because when I enter the community I don't know which one to click, mine or the original discussion.

Thx and Cheers
