I want to download to reinstall - but I can't even get to my account screen, I just get the cannot find server screen. But I can access my account screen from work, so the problem lies with my installation here

RE: Can't reinstall - you won't talk to me

What application(s) are you trying to install, home products or Enterprise? What system is this you just reinstalled, including service pack details please.
Also where do you get your McAfee from -- McAfee.com, or your ISP, or your employer?

It helps if you give these details.

Could well be that your system is already infected by a virus preventing you from accessing your account.
Check for e.g. Conficker using the web address below and tell us what's happening.

RE: Can't reinstall - you won't talk to me

Check for spyware using the free versions of both these tools and let them delete anything they find. (Spyware can prevent security software from working and even stop you accessing the webpages associated with it).

http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Your XP should be brought up to date with SP3 tio be fully supported, there's help with that here: http://community.mcafee.com/showthread.php?t=220807

You may be using IE6 still, I suggest installing IE8 from Microsoft directly: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx

Plus make sure you have the latest Flash, Shockwave and Java.

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

McAfee's webpages and applications rely on an up to date and working IE, so go to IE Tools/Internet Options and do some maintenance.

If IE6: General tab - delete browsing history, Security tab - make sure all zones are at default, Contrnt tab - make sure content advisor is off.
If IE7 or 8: Go to the Advanced tab, click Reset, then Apply and OK.
Close and reopen the browser and then go to Tools/Manage Add-ons and re-enable the add-ons.

Try again for your account at https://home.mcafee.com/Secure/Protected/Login.aspx

RE: Can't reinstall - you won't talk to me

Have tried super anti spyware - still no result.
Have got too much work to do to spend too much time at the moment.
How do I tell which version of IE I have, I couldn't fully understand the instructions.
Thanks

RE: Can't reinstall - you won't talk to me

Well take your time. If you read them carefully it should make sense.

To tell what version of IE you have go to the top Menu bar - if it doesn't have one then right-click the top bar and check the Menu Bar option.
Click Help and then About Internet Explorer for the version.
