Can't install Internet Security 2009

I'm not able to get Internet Security 2009 ti install from the CD only mode or the internet mode. When I get to the screen that shows the install progress all the boxes get a failed X after only a few minutes. When I try to install using the mode that goes out to the update the definitions I get and error the it can't connect to the sever. This computer had the Antivirus 2009 virus on it and I used several programs to remove it and many other spyware and adware issues. Additionally, I'm not able to down load any of the new update definitions for these programs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is a Compaq Presario running: Windows XP Home Edition SP3 and MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP3.

Download Malwarebytes ' Anti-Malware from Here or Here Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform Full Scan, then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart (see Extra Note below).
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy & paste the entire report into your next reply.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

I am having a similar problem. I have windows xp and my antivirus scan said I have antivirus 2009. I have been having problems with random pop ups and one day I went to turn on my computer and it could not load up. I got it to start up in safe mode but it will not load up normally.

I downloaded the malwarebytes anti malware via flash drive from another clean computer to the infected computer and when I click on it to run a scan in safe mode, it will not show up on my screen. It shows the hour glass for a few seconds then nothing. Thank you for any help that anyone can give me. let me know if you need any more info that I can give to help you help me.

Sorry, I should of posted that I had already used Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, Ccleaner and Hijackthis. When I started to work on this computer I couldn't even get to the web pages to download these tools. I had to load them onto a USB drive and run them from there. I first used Malwarebytes and then Ccleaner and then I used Superantispyware and Ccleaner again. I found Antivirus 2009, TDSS and Backdoor. Once I used all of these programs I was able to log onto web pages and even get to the pages of these tools. I was not able to update the definitions for any of these programs. I then tried to install McAfee using the internet option, no luck. I also tried in safe mode, no luck. I then tried to install McAfee using the DC only option, no luck. I used Hijackthis fixed some registry item that were associated with TDSS and Antivirus 2009. After all of this I'm still not able to install McAfee. As the HJT log is long I will post it in several postings.
