Re: COMPUTER GOES SLOWLY

I shortened the headline as it just didn't make any sense.  What Tony said is please do not use CAPITALS - it is difficult to read and is considered SHOUTING.  Also it isn't very clear what is wrong.  What is a MANAGER RECOVERY?

Re: COMPUTER GOES SLOWLY

Manager recovery is included in my computer compaq, from HP, Compaq Presario C770LA.  When you start Manager Recovery all the computer starts like the original features from the Fabric. So all your documents, files, etc, pictures, all the web sited you downloaded before get lost, disapears. you can do it, by pressing the start botton, and pushing many times "f11"-   F-11, and appears the Manager Recovery. So is a feature to restart your computer like Original from fabric(from zero).

My problem is that I did many times Manager Recovery, and is the last resource when nothing works.

Many times my computers got slowly, mouse doesn,t work, web pages doesn,t open, or they don,t close, or the mouse play alone, the arrow goes around the screen, nothing was working, .. and days were going, so.. after you do manager recovery everything is smooth, and fast.

the issue is that after a few weeks, or even sometimes, I had the same problem. I changed many times my internet provider, Also I changed anti virus.

Now I am paying a faster Internet provider service: of 15 mega(I don,t know, if is Mega). Is going fast, and to that provider I am paying this Anti virus: Mc afee.

                    sincerely,

Re: COMPUTER GOES SLOWLY

If you restored the computer to its original state then you should uninstall Mcafee as it will most likely be corrupted.  Uninstall via Control Panel in the normal way then run the MCPR cleanup tool listed under Useful Links at the top of this page, reboot and then go  to your online account and re-download your software.

Re: COMPUTER GOES SLOWLY

Thanks for your fast reply.

Indeed, that is what I did.

Just the Anti Virus was before: Norton. The Norton from my Panel Control(I have it all in Spanish). From that place I uninstalled Norton

and the Mc Afee Anti virus I received to my E-mail from my Internet provider.

                          Thank you.

My question, is why so many times happened that to me.  I really want to know for a future reason. Many times I lost all my books that I downloaded(That was before).

Why so many times happened to me ? Why ?

How can i prevent it ?

Is this a Virus ? Is this a problem from some other place ?

Why suddenly mouse doesn,t work, internet pages(web sites doesn,t close or doesn,t open, or nothing is working ?

Is this a problem of Compaq, HP notebook: C770LA.

                                  Why ?

                                                           Sincerely,

Peacekeeper

Re: COMPUTER GOES SLOWLY

Two comments

1. You have had many Antivirus programs on the PC did you use their own removal tools to remove them? Do so they can slow up the PC and cause lockups.

For McAfee uninstall via

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS101331

reboot and run

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/Mcpreinstall.exe

reinstall from your account

2. In case you have a virus run some of these suggested scanners. Note Malwarebytes etc are not to be present when you install Mcafee . You can reinstall it later (the free version only as the paid version clashes)

Re: COMPUTER GOES SLOWLY

It could be a virus or some other type of malware.   Download Hijackthis and post its log on one of the specialist forums - all listed near the bottom of this document: https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-2168

They will analyse it and tell you if anything is wrong.

Other than that the best thing would be to take the machine into a computrer repair shop.

Re: COMPUTER GOES SLOWLY

Hi, today I can not up date the Anti virus Mc Afee.  The last automatic up date did not complete successfullly. I tried the Virtual tachnician, and doesn,t work.

Also today I wanted to download the Hijackthis, and doesn,t work. Said that my system doesn,t alloud to analize or something like that. Or to.. I don,t know what ??

Well There is an X in red in the bottom right of the desk. Also in the icon of Mc Afee at the bottom , right say: ..the last automatic up date did not complete successfully.

                                        So now what ??

                                                                                 Please help

                                                                                                               Sincerely
