RE: unable to fix problem, unable to connect

Then I am not sure what to suggest. Perhaps if you answer Dhon's question he may have some ideas.

RE: unable to fix problem, unable to connect

As you can see, I gave a negative answer to Dhon's question...
What REALLY frustrate me is not being able to understand what's going on. I will install XP on my win2k pc, sooner or later. But I woul like to understand what' the matter anyway...

Assuming that you have not tried these
Click on start
then select Run
type CMD and hit enter
in the Command prompt type

PROXYCFG -D and hit enter
NETSH INT IP RESET RESET.LOG and hit enter
NETSH WINSOCK RESET and hit enter
once that is done let us know if there is any differences

RE: unable to fix problem, unable to connect

Sorry, didn't see that answer until after I posted. Can you reach other security software pages such as Symantec? http://www.symantec.com/norton/downloads/index.jsp

I'm wondering if you have some kind of strange infection.

Just to be sure, run Hijackthis and post its log on one of the following forums for expert advice.

RE: unable to fix problem, unable to connect

It seems we are all posting at once. As I am about to go on holiday I will leave it to Vinod and Dhon.

RE: unable to fix problem, unable to connect

One last suggestion: Zyxel ETHERNET router has an inbuilt Internet Security, Can you please check if that is enabled?
