RE: Update, No resolution.

I think I've posted all of this in my post, I'll recap:

The two parts that turn off are Email&IM and Realtime Protection.
I'm using Vista Home Premium 64 bit, SP2 running on an Intel Core i7 CPU, 6GB Ram. I don't see how my browser could have anything to do with this behaviour But I'll humour you: I use both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

It happens with or without my browser open.. it happens more often when I run 3D applications.

Is there a T3 Supervisor or T4?

I told him I was going with Windows 7 when the release was official. (Oct 22, in the US)
He asked me to reinstall my OS and I said no thanks.
That's NOT the problem.
I studied the logs myself.
The errors are all explainable/typical based on my usage and HP's crapy 3rd party vendors.
I believe the problem lies with the Vista 64bit OS and McAfee's interaction.
(I believe you run 32bit?);) <Your signature gave you away>
Well I reinstalled McAfee. (AVG was ok, but I hate that this is an unresolved bug)
I wish another Tier 3 tech would look into this.
I really feel the one who tried to help me gave up WAY to easily...
Blaming the OS is just a cop-out in my case. IMHO:rolleyes:

Update...
Having said All of this,
I installed the BETA and everything is working well, so far. happy

RE: Is there a T3 Supervisor or T4?

For those still getting this issue 1 thing to look into. Check whether these files are still there
C:\ProgramData\McAfee\MSC\mcsubdb.dat
C:\ProgramData\McAfee\MSC\cache\mcsubdb.bak

If they are not there post back.

Same problem

I have having the same problem as Austin. I am running vista 64 bit on 2 identical comps. They are about a year old, but this problem just started happening 2 days ago. Dell dimension XPS, mcafee securitycenter version 9.15. I checked for those 2 files you listed, I have the first 1 but not the second one on both comps. And I see my comps are eerily identical to Bloodrayne's comp, with the exception I don't use firefox, just IE. I did recently download/install a game called Atlantica Online, which came with a stupid game logging thing called Xfire. I uninstalled the Xfire bit fine, and can't seem to find any posts or anything bad involved with Atlantica Online.

I'm having the same issues that the previous posters have reported, just started this morning.

Got Virtual Technician to work. It FOUND NO PROBLEMS. Well...it only checked SiteAdvisor.

RE: Is there a T3 Supervisor or T4?

OK both of you sometihing the techs in our call suggested yesterday.

Uninstall using the removal tool in my sig.

Also if you used another AV \firewall program previously run their removal tool as well.

Reboot and reinstall then

In vista go to the site of the files and copy the files to a folder on your desktop.

In XP search for the files and when found do same. note folder name

If issue resurfaces copy the copied file s over the files if necessary.

If the files have vanished let us know as thechs have several clients loaded with process monitoring software trying to see what removes the files.

This is still work in progress and instances not high

RE: Is there a T3 Supervisor or T4?

Apprently something has been fixed on the server side. I once again clicked the 'Fix' button, and read your response while SecurityCenter again downloaded files. HOWEVER...this time, rather than just quitting after the download, it went on to INSTALL the download.

I still don't have
C:\ProgramData\McAfee\MSC\mcsubdb.dat
C:\ProgramData\McAfee\MSC\cache\mcsubdb.bak

Yet Security Center is all green:

All seems to be working as it should, now. I won't be going through yet another unecessary uninstall/reinstall, thanks.

not working

I'm still getting the you are not protected message. I reinstalled 2 times and tried going back to a restore point this AM before all of this started. Update runs and says that my files are up to date.

I don't have: C:\ProgramData\McAfee\MSC\mcsubdb.dat or C:\ProgramData\McAfee\MSC\cache\mcsubdb.bak

What should I do???

Thanks

Did an online chat and they suggested uninstalling Ad Aware and using the removal tool.

Just finished doing that, reinstalled and things seem to be OK now.

Thanks.
