"No logs exist" in Event Logs

When I click on View Logs under recent events, the window that should show the log details just says "No logs exist". All the panes in this window (including the left hand navigation pane pane) are blank.

I'm running Security Center 9.3, Virus Scan 13.3 and Firewall 10.3.

I tried Virtual Technician, which did not find any problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

RE: "No logs exist" in Event Logs

Hi,

Please clarify/perform the steps.

What is the Version of Operating system you use?
What type of internet connection you use (DLS/Cable/wireless)?
Did you use any third party security software along with McAfee (Norton, AVG, etc…) if you have kindly remove it from the add and remove program.
What is the version of the Internet explorer you use?
Can you provide the old session Id for MVT or Perform the MVT in the computer and post the session ID through the link below

RE: "No logs exist" in Event Logs

Hi,

The OS is Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1 Service Pack 3 Build 2600. Internet connection is cable. I have IE 7.0.5730.13 installed, although I don't use it. I use Firefox 3.0.8.

I had MalwareBytes installed, but I've removed it.

The MVT session ID was 17248678.

Hi,

Please clarify if you made any changes to computer in the recent past?

Steps:

Try to perform the windows update including Optional update (open the Internet Explore Click Tools->windows update)
Run the IE Regfix and check if the issue is resolved
http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/IERegFix.bat
Try to create the new user account in the windows and check if the issue persists.

RE: "No logs exist" in Event Logs

Hi Bala,

No, there haven't been any recent changes.

I performed all three steps (Windows Update, Regfix and new account) but there's no change in the issue. McAfee is still showing no logs.

RE: "No logs exist" in Event Logs

Hi Bala,

Reinstalling did the trick. Logs are back.

Thanks!
