Windows Security Center with McAfee SecurityCenter

Hello,

As some of you are aware, Windows Security Center in Windows Vista has some trouble with recognizing McAfee SecurityCenter as was brought up in the thread below:

http://community.mcafee.com/showthread.php?t=226587

Anyway, after installing the following windows updates:

KB958690
KB960225
KB959772
KB905866
KB962871

I noticed that Windows Security Center was doing this:

It's a bit disconcerting, but has anyone else seen this after doing a Windows Update and does anyone know how to make it so that actual words appear. Fortunately, McAfee itself seems to be working fine.

OS: Windows Vista (32-bit)
McAfee SecurityCenter: Build 9.3.137
Firewall: Build 10.3.106
VirusScan: Build 13.3.116

Many thanks,

dummkopf

RE: Windows Security Center with McAfee SecurityCenter

Did you reboot after updating?

Have you been using any registry cleaners? I ask because they are guaranteed to mess up Windows and many installed programmes.

Did you try the process that Bastiaan suggested in post # 3 of that thread?

Are you using any other protection especially any with active protection?

Is your Windows totally up to date? If so is Vista service pack 1 is installed.

Are you using any abnormal setttings anywhere in Windows?

RE: Windows Security Center with McAfee SecurityCenter

Thanks for your response. I opted to just reinstall mcafee since my past experience with the method on the other thread had less than the desired results. I don't seem to be seeing anymore odd behavior at this point in time.

Thanks again.

Glad it's fixed. Moving to the solved thread.
