Re: Why are Icons (Start Menu) still reappearing after ver. 11.0.654 install?

Jump to solution

See what 2012 developers do they have not got to my bug report yet.

That solution probably best 1 for the time being.

I am running the latest version (11.0.654), language en-au, Australian user.

The desktop icon issue is not fixed. I have checked the registry as suggested but do not have the "Shortcuts" folder in the MSC folder, and do not know how to add this. If I try to add anything in the MSC folder of the registry it says it cannot ("Cannot create key: Error writing to the registry")

The desktop icon is recreated during start up (when the desktop first appears it is not there, then appears during the startup process)

Any advice?

There might be some problem with your registry folder. A file that might be missing from it or is corrupted. That is the thing you should be looking for.

Some installs just miss getting the folder. easy to fix. Mine was 1 of these.
