Out of date DAT

I just ran MVT because my last update was taking too long...and found this error:

DAT and Engine 1 DAT / Engine update
DAT not Up-to-date
Expected :
Existing: 7014
Engine Up-to-date
Expected : 5200
Existing: 5500
Top Issues OK
Top Issue: Corrupt DAT issue
SYSTEM OK

Is this a major worry?

Matt

Re: Out of date DAT

What is your DAT?  Open SecurityCenter and click About.  If it's only 1 or even 2 behind then it's probably just a slow server problem, if it's more then you should perhaps think back as to what may have corrupted McAfee.  Things that come immediately to mind would be infections, use of registry cleaners etc.

Let me know if it is in fact up to date after right-clicking your desktop icon and selecting Update.

Note SecurityCenter version 12 and above do not use DAT's but they use Engine updates instead.

Re: Out of date DAT

My details are:

McAfee SecurityCenter

Version: 11.6

Build: 11.6.477

Affld: 105-345

Language: en-gb

Late update 08/03/2013

When I update the downloads just go to 100% without seeming downloading anything.

Any ideas?

Re: Out of date DAT

It looks like your software has become corrupted somehow.

Try uninstalling via Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program (Add or Remove in XP)

Then run the MCPR cleanup tool from HERE.

Reboot and reinstall from your online account.

By the way what operating system and service pack is this and is it totally up to date, including parts you may not use, i.e. Internet Explorer?

Re: Out of date DAT

OK, see my previous post.   If the reinstall doesn't help then contact Technical Support, it's free by phone or online chat and linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.

Once sorted out I recommend you install IE10, as it's finally been released for Windows 7.

Re: Out of date DAT

OK...I have just uninstalled then reinstalled as instructed.  I then updated and it downloaded and installed updates OK.  My details now read:

McAfee SecurityCenter

Build: 11.6.477

Affld: 105

Language: eng-gb

Late update: 16/03/2013

I then ran MVT and it came up with four issues....but....I did not allow MVT to fix them.  The issues found were:

Yes, and run it again if necessary.  If it fails contact Technical Support.

Re: Out of date DAT

Mattmcgillan,

Run the MVT again and fix the issues. Once the issue gets fixed, rerun the MVT. Post the logs
