That 'next update' actually means the interface will next check for updates at that time. There's no way of forecasting when an actual update will occur.

Maybe I was misconstrued in my previous post. I more or less was concurring that there should be no reason for concern, for my engine Version was 1686 as well. As you said even though my "Anti-Spam" content updated @ 8:51...I,m still @ 1686 as well.

Cheesy European History puns aside, to check your engine number / creation date doubleclick on the shield icon in your task tray, click on the "about" text, and scroll to where it says "McAfee Antivirus and Anti-Spyware". The entries on the lower three of five lines indicate the last update, your engine build, and engine build date of creation.
(I don't know about you guys, but I tend to inspect this after running an update.)
