Given that the manual fix blocks future updates, I have decided not to use it but wait for the corrective update...........if it ever arrives.
My virus scan is updated daily but my security center is still at build 194 and my personal firewall is still at build 131. I cannot understand why it is taking Mcafee so long to get security center 195 and personal firewall 135 distributed to customers - I live in the United States.
Actually it is a good idea that when you reinstall you install from the AU servers as they get the fixes 1st up.
Will ask the powers that be re US servers and build 194 in our Monday call
how do you force it over to the Aus server.
I am concerned that if it takes this long to do the upgrade how long will it take if a major virus gets out to update us with a fix ?? or are we just always going to be weeks behind all the time. also how is the jump from 131 to 135 ??
My Firewall is still on 131 but the security center is at 195. Somer kindly put the test fix on my machine so is it worth doing what Rowdy 11/9/10 & Peacekeeper (11/9/10) suggested as the test fix does not update firewall or wait ?
I may need Somer's assistance again if possible.
Thanks
Angelina
Peacekeeper, I have now removed the manual fix from both of
my machines and was able to manually update the firewall to
135 on both machines. Both seem to be running just fine with
no shutdown or other noticeable errors. I do think the manual
fix was blocking the firewall from updating. Thanks for the help.
Taken out the fix rebooted checked for updates and nothing still stuck on 131 saying I have the latest update now confused ??
I suggest to give it a little time. One of my machines took the new
update right after i removed the fix and updated. The other took a
couple of tries and it too updated. If you followed what i did then
it will update. Patience
Yes appears manual fix is causing issues though no update to firewall since 131. te 135 was the files I hear.
Angie wll ask somer to help you update if you feel you need assistance.
To get aussie server you need to uninstall mcafee via the MCPR removal tool and then reboot and connect to http://home.mcafee.com/Default.aspx?culture=EN-AU
ie go to www.mcafee.com and choose australia at top page. Enter your account and reinstall.

That is an old fix it also only fixs 1 cause of the issue. Many tried it back 1000 pages or so and did not have success. Best to wait for the update the issue is minor and fixed.
