Here's more bad news. The fresh installation of McAfee with DAT 6809 just coughed up this message on my Windows Vista Home Ultimate SP2 32-bit machine with IE9:
The product still appears to run quick scans, but I'm not confident of the results. Any ideas?
I am also having the same update launcher problem for the past few days. Everything appears to be working fine except I keep finding this error message on my pc when I get home from work. If I try and manually run a scan to check for updates it returns an error message. Under Updates it says that updates are current and last one was at 5.19am.
I have McAfee AntiVirus Plus.
What dat have you?
That is interesting you should get 11.6 now . Possible that the install was corrupted can you retry it (the reinstall) please.

reinstall Mcafee
I just did the clean out and reinstall on 19 August 2012, as noted above. Here's my version info now:
How may I insure that I receive version 11.6?
Is this a mcafee subscription or 1 through an ISP or say Dell?
Really 11.6 is out in your country so either It is throttled ie only given out to a certain % each day or I can force the update. I would rather wait a bit to see if it comes by itself.
So it is running Ok now or you still getting the error?
If the latter I would try a reinstall from the aussie server you will get 12.0 there the new 2012 version.
dat version 6807 guess I better try an uninstall and reinstall,
Yes should be 6809 though you tried a restore back 2 days then try an update?
I have McAfee on 2 PCs and both are showing they have updated to DAT ver 6809. I can scan for viruses and Im getting no error messages at all. However for days now when I go to do an update it keeps comming up "Your programs are up to date" If this keeps up should I reinstall also?
thanks
There was a problem with DAT's 6807 and 8 so 6809 means your are up to date. 6810 should be out soon but as yet I don't have it. Wait awhile to see if you get an update within the next few hours.
