McAfee thinks wireless network is missing Why?

I am running XP SP3, without any wireless network.  (Never had one)

Just this week received an update from Mcafee to Total Protection 2010.

Now, there is a permanent icon on my task bar showing the wireless network as "disconnected," and within half an hour or so of a boot, a splat screen displays that says "Wireless Network failed to materialize.

While I'm reassured that Mcafee did not find something that's never been unstalled, I don't like the annoyance of these icons and screens.

How can I get Mcafee to stop looking for a wireless network.

P.S.  I understand TP 2010 doesn't protect wireless networks anyway!
