Hi, I contacted customer support (chat support) this afternoon because I couldn't validate my subscription on a new computer. The guy that I was chatting with offered me a solution via Remote Access. Is this a usual workaround from customer support? He sent me a link or add-on (can't remember well) in order to get authorization to access my computer via remote control. I approved access and he gave a solution to the problem. At the same time, I received an email with title: "Your identity protection service found a breach". Body of email says “YOUR INFO WAS STOLEN”. Here a print screen of email: https://imgur.com/vOfVjyI
What happened here? I'm alarmed. Is this an unfaithful employee? How can I know his ID?
Thank you!
Thank you GaneshR for your answer. I read the article but I would like to know what happened. Is it a normal procedure for tech support to remotely access computers? Did the remote access triggered the Warning email? https://imgur.com/vOfVjyI
After this incident I immediately formatted the hard drive.
