McAfee says "Virus Protection: Not Installed".

I had to reinstall my McAfee and now it says Virus Protection:  Not Installed but my subscription expires in 1/12/2011.  When I click on the install this feature now link it takes me to the McAfee website to renew.  What am I missing here?  I have a active subscription but the virus protection isn't working.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: McAfee says "Virus Protection: Not Installed".

Hello there,

Could you please provide us with some more information about the issue;
What is the operating system of the computer ?
Did you install the programs though a disc or from internet ?
Do we have any other security software installed in the computer ?
Did we make any recent changes to the computer like a system restore ?

Please run Mcafee virtual technician from here : http://mvt.mcafee.com and post us your session id .

Please get back to us with the above information and we will help you proceed further with this.

Re: McAfee says "Virus Protection: Not Installed".

Hi bowhunts,

Sorry for the delayed response, please follow the below prompts before you reinstall the software;

Run the McAfee removal tool from here and restart the computer.

Check for any third party software remnants in control panel and in the below locations;

C:\program files and common files

C:\program data

if found delete them.

Run the Mcpreinstall tool from here and reinstall the program from your account page.

Let me know if you have any issues ,

Regards,

Dinesh K
