Open SecurityCenter and click About. If it says SecurityCenter version 11 then it's retail, if 12 then it's beta...basically.
I can't connect with Tech Support on your behalf as I can't connect with your computer but I can ask for internal help within these forums.
My Security Center says version 11. Thanks for asking for internal help. I just continue to monitor this topic.
This made me laugh.... some of use are still waiting for an update to ger rid of the desktop icon
adrianrp, so you have posted now 6 times. Flooding the forums wont bring it in any faster. I know this is exstremely annoying for many but if you read the blurb here or here you will see that simply installing from the online account over the top of your existing installation should force the update.

McAfee did not automatically update the fix for the desktop icon issue, I had to reinstall the software myself. Then, the fix did not work until I manually changed the Registry. Makes me wonder if they cannot even update their own software correctly what are they doing with the critical anti-virus updates?
OK that's too bad as it certainly should have worked OK and sorry it didn't. A small number of people have reported they need the registry fix after the update came in and this far we have no idea why. This update had nothing to do with protection which all come in normally.
