MSN free McAfee ending; hope for quick answer to this question, please.

Jump to solution

As I've previously posted, MSN is discontinuing it's McAfee for MSN.  It has been suggested that I wait until the MSN McAfee expires to uninstall it and purchase and install new antivirus (I'm going to stay with McAfee, but not with MSN).  Is it absolutely necessary that I wait for my MSN McAfee to expire, or can I uninstall it and purchase my new McAfee now?  I have excellent instructions for the uninstall/purchase/install new procedure, so I'm ready (thank you, Selvan).  Is there any technical reason why I should or have to wait until mine expires?

You may very well uninstall McAfee through MSN now. Only reason you were suggested to wait was, you could continue using the free subscription and don’t lose on the remaining days. There is no technical reason whatsoever.

Actually, I thought it was necessary to remove the old McAfee before downloading and installing the new one, so I already did that.  Did the full removal of the old one, then did the new one.  Thank you again.
