LOST and CONFUSED

Hello community i had mcafee installed already in my computer (laptop) and something happened it kept cutting itself off like every couple of mins. But before i go any further i really don't get along with computers we have a love hate relationship anyway it would turn itself off and i would have to stop whatever i was doing and push the turn on button. But as soon as would do that it would say firewall off or whatever its called. Soooo i thought i would uninstalled stuff i didn't think i needed in programs and features. i must have uninstalled a program i needed for my mcafee because now its completely gone and it doesn't expire until 2013. HELP!!!!!!!

Re: LOST and CONFUSED

Basically it shouldn't keep turning off unless it's encountering malware (check the last link in my signature for some hints) or your operating system isn't being kept up to date, so make sure of that and, as McAfee interface uses Internet explorer regardless of your default browser settings, make sure you have the latest version of that installed.

You can always re-download your product from your online account:   https://home.mcafee.com/secure/protected/login.aspx?rfhs=1

If you have any problems Technical Support is free of charge and always available by phone or online chat and linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.

Re: LOST and CONFUSED

Also ensure you have uninstalled all bits of the program before reinstalling The correct way to uninstall is as shown here......

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS101331

reboot and run

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/Mcpreinstall.exe

and reinstall from your account as Peter mentioned.
