Internet Security 2011: how to exclude a folder from scanning/protection

If I am posting this in the wrong category, please give me a pointer to the right category.

I bought 'McAfee Internet Security 2011'.

I'm trying to figure out how to configure McAfee to ignore a specific folder so that it does not scan or otherwise protect the folder.

Any hints?

Thanks.

Unfortunately that ability was removed around 7 versions ago and we have been asking for its reintroduction ever since and have been told finally that it may appear in 2011 but no promises.   That software isn't even in beta testing yet.

(The "2011" product on sale is actually 2010 relabelled for marketing and competitive reasons - valid subscriptions all update to whatever the current version is anyway).

Meanwhile here's what to do with any false positives:  https://community.mcafee.com/thread/2016

Ex-Brit,

Thank you for the detailed reply!

Unfortunately, this means that McAfee won't work for me....

That's a shame, but understandable.  Good luck.
