Re: IE8 problem, AT&T customer

See post 4 in this thread           Partners such as Verizon, Dell, Cox, AOl, AT&T just to name a few have agreements with McAfee to sell and market the software and for whatever reason they take much longer to stay current with what is available by obtaining the software directly from McAfee. They will eventually catch up but we have no timetable as to when.

Re: IE8 problem, AT&T customer

I am so tired of crashing.

I did a full scan with my McAfee and it found nothing.

I did a full scan with Malbytes and it found nothing.  And then crashed.

Went back to Microsoft can't even find the fix it that is suppose to address that problem which causes the yellow shield to keep trying to re install update which appear on my Remove programs list.

I just want to know: Are they there or not?  Do I have something to worry about or not?

Is McAfee really verifing my subscription or not?

Must I always have McAfee scanning in the background to make it happy?

Do I have virus protection or not?

I do have it scan automatically every night.

Isn't that enought?

Well ok?  I have it set to do that.  Why can't I depend on it.   My PC is on and nothing else is going on at 3am.

If not should I be using something else for protection until you are ready or caught up?

I am using IE 7 because now IE 8 won't even load anyway.

DO I have to go back to IE 6 to get rid of the Yellow UPdate Shield from Microsoft.

Is the shield up because it doesn't like or trust what the MeAfee is doing?

I just want to know who to trust or believe.  Can you blame me?

Re: IE8 problem, AT&T customer

I can't believe what I have been through this week with Microsoft.

Why do they hide the information that you really need to fix things with?

I had to clean the entire Net. Framwork registry.  with the exception of 3.5.

.NET FRAMEWORK CLEANUP TOOL

Then I had to stay there and load all the Net Framwork updates  from beginning to end.

Still I have not been able to load IE 8

Still McAfee update does not work when I press the link.

Is scanning the only wayI can make it happy.   Why can't it do these things at night  at 3am when I 'm not using my system?

Re: IE8 problem, AT&T customer

Ok so I finally made it through Microsoft Hell week.

I replaced my entire Net Framework updates in the registry, failing to understand why microsoft didn't send me these updates in the first place.

I even updated to IE 8 on the 2nd try.   after only a few security updates the Microsoft sheilds are gone.

Now all I have left is an error report which which keeps coming back until I clean my uneccesary files.

I am estactic to have the connect with McAfee button bringing me to your support page,

http://service.mcafee.com/MVT.aspx?MVT=1&&lc=1033&sg=TS&pt=1

After many scans why do I still get this:

What do you mean by ! pending Dat?

What do I need to do to get Dat fully upto date?
