How to update from version 9 to version 10

Ok  well first off i  have security center 9.15 and i wanted to know about the process to update the base configuration from version 9 to version 10.

if i still have 100+ days of subscription (actually 1 yr+ a few days) left is it or is it NOT possible? I have done this before on several comps. for others when switching from Norton 2009 to 2010 and also with norton 2010 to the new 2011.

Re: How to update from version 9 to version 10

Provided your machine has a supported operating system (support for Windows 2000 has been dropped in version 10+ due to obsolescence) it should update automatically eventually as long as your subscription is current.

This process can be delayed if you obtain McAfee protection via your ISP or computer maker as they often modify the software to badge with their own logo and make other minor changes.

The fast way to obtain the latest version of the software is always to uninstall, run the MCPR cleanup tool (Useful Links at the top of this page), reboot and reinstall from your online account rather than any CD you may have.
