Getting a virus alert when installing

Jump to solution

I keep getting a virus alert when installing my MT5.

Please see attached.  Is this a virus or is it like the broker's CSR I talked to said that it isn't a virus, it is just the platform is not recognized by Mcaffee.

If it is not a virus how do I go around it?

Thank you,

Aris Abril

Hello @aristonabril

We are sorry that the application that you are trying to install is getting detected as a threat.

From the screenshot, it seems that McAfee is detecting the application as False Positive.
If you are sure that the program you are trying to install is legit, you can raise a false positive dispute by following the below McAfee Article,

How to submit false positives to McAfee

Note that when you are raising a dispute, make sure you zip the .exe file that you are trying to install, using Winzip and make it password protected.

Password: infected (all lower case)

Detailed information on how to submit samples to McAfee is provided in the below Article,

Please follow the instructions and let us know if you need any further help. Also, update us once the issue gets resolved.
