I noticed that the full scan on two different machines last night ran about twice as fast (around 4 hours instead of the usual 8). No changes to either machine, around same number of files scanned.
The optimist in me says "that's the great", the pessimest wonders if something else is up. Anyone else notice a change? Thanks.
It should not be taking 4 hours to complete a full scan, but have you noticed whether it got stuck on any of the folders/files. Try to perform a full scan again and check it out…
It is scanning around 1.2 million files on each machine, a total of around 2 TB. Should it really perform a scan faster than 4 hours? (Drives are 7200, machine has 12GB RAM, 2.9 GHz i7, with Vista 64-bit)
Mmm… one quick question – what is the version of McAfee that you are using in the computer is it Consumer (or) Enterprise Edition?
It is the consumer version.
Please let me know the version details of the McAfee programs, also since you are using 2 TB of HDD I’m sure it would take some time to scan the entire HDD
It's the latest version of Security Center. The second full weekly scan went much faster as well, so maybe just more efficient? I'm certainly not complaining about the faster scan!
