Can't activate my Total protection 2009

When I click on activate I get a message saying that  Activation can't continue i have tried from the saml m icon at the bottom of the screen and click product setup but get the same message. also get the same on laptop.

I am using IE 7 and windows vista

If log into my macafee account it say I have no products.  I up grade with a cd after my 3 months trial ended.

plz it it's driving me crazy.

Hi hapyange,

Please try the following steps:

1.Click the Windows Button and type cmd.exe into the search bar.
2.   Right-click cmd.exe in the search list, and select Run as Administrator.
3 Type the following text, then press ENTER:

c:\program files\mcafee\msc\mcoemmgr.exe /regserver


4. Right-click the M icon in your taskbar and select either Activate, Activate Now, Register, or Register Now.
5.    Select the option login & follow the instructions.

Thanks don't have any of the register options when I right click the M  this has a x on top of it.

quick links

change settings

product setup

verify subscription

I have clicked product set up but still get the error message.

Hi ,

Product setup is the option in newer versions, try to reset your IE and then continue to register the program.

Open IE , click tools - from the advanced tab click reset .

Close all open windows and right click on the M icon and select product setup.

sorry but done that and still getting the same error message.

Hi,

I suppose the last installation did not have been done completely ,

Run the removal tool from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe   and restart the computer.

Reinstall the programs from the cd setup and right click and start activating under the login option and everything should be ok.
