Blank Security Center w/ IE v. 6 and XP home SP3

So my Security Center window is all white with the black bar at the top and the M/X icons. I checked my version of Internet Explorer via regedit and it's 6.0.2900.5512, also I'm running XP Home Service Pack 3. I was wondering what the problem could be since it isn't my version of Internet Explorer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all I recommend that you upgrade to IE7 without delay as it is safer.

Check Internet Explorer Tools/Internet Options/Security set all zones to default, under the Content tab make sure that Content Advisor is turned off, under the Advanced tab make sure it's also default.

Other than that check for any other program that may block IE in any way. Security Center is an IE page in fact, an internal one, but still controlled by IE.

You never had IE8 installed at any stage?

RE: Blank Security Center w/ IE v. 6 and XP home SP3

I choose to use Firefox over IE so I usually don't bother to update it, but I suppose since some programs like Security Center utilize it I'll do it.

I ended up wiping/restoring my hard drive with XP because of some root system files that got corrupted (explorer.exe and others) and reinstalled McAfee.

It works fine now and I'll be sure to keep IE updated to v. 7. Thanks for your help.

Glad it's OK now.
