3-User McAfee Internet Security problems

I'm encountering some issues with my 3-User McAfee Internet Security suite.

Versions:
SecurityCenter: 9.3 (9.3.151)
VirusScan: 13.3 (13.3.127)
Personal Firewall: 10.3 (10.3.11)
SiteAdvisor: 2.9 (2.9.258)
Anti-Spam: 10.3 (10.3.109)
Parental Controls: 11.3 (11.3.103)
EasyNetwork: 3.3 (3.3.105)
Backup and Restore: 3.3 (3.3.102)

A pop-up window keeps telling me that there is an "Update Error": "An error occurred while updating. Please reinstall these programs: 3-User McAfee Internet Security"

I tried the standard "Fix" button in the SecurityCenter, but nothing happens.

I verify my subscription, and it completes without any issues.

I went to the McAfee website to re-download the suite to have it reinstall, but the download button doesn't work in either Firefox (default) and Internet Explore.

What is my problem? Please help.

Hi,
Pleas clarify,
What is the version of operating system you use (Vista / XP)?
Did you receive any kind of alert/advertisements or pop-ups in the computer?
Post the DAT version and Engine version of McAfee Virus scan (Open Security center-click on about in the Right hand bottom panel-check the Build version and DAT version for McAfee Virus scan)?
Steps:
Ping the Downlaod.mcafee.com and post the IP address you get (Start-Run-type CMD- ping download.mcafee.com)
Perform the McAfee Virtual Technician in both computer and post the session ID http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt/default.asp

Hi Bala,

I'm using Windows XP + SP3

No alerts nor advertisements or pop-ups

VirusScan: DAT Version: 5616.0000 and Engine Version: 5301.4018

Ping the downlaod.mcafee.com:
Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss)
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

Perform the McAfee Virtual Technician in both computer and post the session ID http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt/default.asp

I get a HTTP 404 - File not found error.

Please follow steps and update us on the status.

This may also happen if you’re computer is effected with Malware or Root-kits .we have to scan the computer for infection as we discussed in this thread you can Run the free versions (Malware) tool: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php clean anything it detected.

Thanks for your help. It was some malware in my rig that was causing the problems. I've now updated VirusScan and Virus signature file and the problem is now fixed. Thanks.
