Re: printing through mcafee firewall

First thought is has the firewall allowed access to the printer spooler?

program spoolsv.exe?

Try checking out which TCP port your printer is using and add that port in the firewalls trust/white list. Good luck.

Hi bradlee4,

Please try the below steps and keep us posted on the status ;

  1. Open McAfee Security Center
  2. Click Internet & Network & Click Configure.
  3. Under the section Firewall protection is enabled, click Advanced...
  4. Select Program Permissions.
  5. Scroll through the list and make sure : spoolsv.exe- (Printer Spooler Subsystem) is been given Full Access

Additionally , enable Windows File Sharing NETBIOS and check the status ;

  1. Open McAfee Security Center
  2. Open the Web and Email Protection drawer and select Firewall
  3. Open the Ports and System Services drawer.
  4. Select the checkbox beside the Windows File Sharing (NETBIOS) Ports 137-139 option

Please keep us posted with any errors if you encounter while adding the port no/ any

Regards,
