My firewall turns off on computer restart

Hello,

I'm currently on Windows 10 Home, version 1803. I'm using McAfee LiveSafe version 16.0 R16.

I have two issues; a (hopefully) small one, and a big one.

1. The big one: often, when I turn my computer off and then back on again, I get a notification saying that the McAfee Firewall has been turned off. This notification appears when I open my internet browser, on the McAfee task bar; on the same bar I choose the option to fix it, and it appears to be turned back on again.

2. The (hopefully) small one: Windows Defender keeps saying my firewall is turned off, without the option to turn it on. I usually check McAfee LiveSafe and it tells me the firewall is up and working; looking at  "Security History", I can see the connections the firewall has blocked, so it appears that Windows Defender is wrong.

Any idea of how I could fix those two issues? For the first one, I guess some service has not been set on automatic, but I have no idea which one; for the second issue, it looks like some sort of compatibility problem, but I have no idea how to solve it.

Thanks!

@TesteEfetuado

Please let us know whether the issue persists when you open Chrome browser especially. If so, perform the below steps and update us.

  1. Open McAfee.
  2. Click Web and Email Protection or click the Gear icon at the top-right corner.
  3. Select Firewall.
  4. Click Restore Defaults.

NOTE: When you automatically restore your Firewall settings, other customized settings might be lost. Make a note of your customized settings before you restore to the default security level.

IMPORTANT: When this option is selected, the action is taken. A confirmation question is not displayed.

Regards
Siva
