Using Mcafee Internet Security, with Personal Firewall v15.0, Build 15.0.6010, on Windows 10. For some strange reason, even when I've added SMB ports to Ports and System Services, my connections from a Linux laptop to a Windows share keep getting blocked by the FW (due to a known SMB-based vulnerability). I added the ports 135-137, 139, and 445, on both TCP and UDP. No luck. I've verified I can connect fine when the FW is turned off. Any help???
Solved! Go to Solution.
In case others have this issue, the fix was simple. The Firewall options screen has a button to Restore Defaults. Once I did this, access to the shares worked fine. I'm guessing the default Windows File Share ports and services rule was sufficient.
Hi Just to know. Could you please turn off netguard and try. Keep the McAfee Firewall on and turn off Netguard.
That change did not work. I still get the same error trying to open the Windows share.
I would call Technical Support, it's a free call & free service. Link below.

OMG, that simple. Glad you are OK now.
