Firewall Keeps turning off by itself

As many other people have already posted - Over the last 4-5 days my firewall keeps turining itself off.  I'm not very technical but have tried to follow some of the advice given to others.  My laptop runs windows 8 when I tried to check the Windows Firewall I can't apply recommended settings as when I try it comes up with "error code 0x80070424". Can anyone offer advice on what has happended and what I should do to sort this out bearing in mind my absolute lack of technical ability??

Thanks
