Attempted connection to ports.

I recently had some trouble with some spyware programs that Mcafee was not catching. I downloaded another spyware program and was able to remove them. When I go under recent events, view log, internet and network, inbound events I have 120 pages from the last 4 days of messages that say a computer has attempted an unsolicited connection to a port. They are many different IP addresses listed and mostly different port numbers. Every couple of seconds a new one is listed. Does this mean someone is trying to get into my computer? Do I still have undetected spyware on my computer?? This is a new computer and its using vista.

RE: Attempted connection to ports.

Those are all failed attempts which we all see, all it means is that the firewall is working OK and doing its job.

There always seems to be a lot but every 30 days those records are expunged.
