well, followed the input here to have an administrator and set up the kids individually for access. when the computer re-boots, and the administrator is not actively on with the password (when I am not home, they can bypass the parental controls by restarting the computer), the kids have access to everything, including those web sights that they should not be in.
what should be done???
I have the same problem. It seems working fine once you log in as administrator first and been through the setup. But once reboot nothing will be in effect.
All True, You have to create a separate user login account for your child ( standard user ) and create a password but dont give it to your child. Once this is done you setup your parental controls through your login ( Admin). Each time your child wants to use his/her computer you must first login yourself ( Admin ) and then switch user and login your child. This is the only way for the Parental Controls to work. Its a pain since each time by child want to use his PC I have to log myself in and then log my child in.
I am a software engineer by trade and spent 2hrs on the phone with support. They never seemed to get what i was explaining. The issue was eventually escalated to the second tier support and a day later i got a call that it was fixed. I have re-installed McAfee and done several updates. It is Not Fixed. I hope that enough people read this and call McAfee that this issue will be addressed.
Hope this helps.
This is a known bug.
I posted a discussion on this as I have the same issue.

I have three teens. All know if I'm not in the room, they only have to click the cancel key every so often to access the internet, ect.. So they have free time. This also happens on the other accounts, not just admin. account. My oldest which is 16, has told me it was a joke to use this parental control. Any help, please!

I went to my security center, Firewall, Automatic updates, and Virus Protection are green and on. I also run Kaspersky. Thanks!
I am just letting my subscription expire. I noticed there was an update to Parental Controls.
But it still is crap.
It doesn't work. Once I power up my PC and log in straight to a user (with content set to lower than adult - tried child, younger teen, etc), it can access all those porn sites even if I put in all those key words that should be blocked.
Either the developers are incompetent, or management are just after our money or BOTH.
Developers, go back to uni. I would really question your competence. If I was your boss I would ALL sack you!
