Problem Switching Profile

Hi,

switching profiles (kid to parent) messes up the icon setup on ipad2.

App-icons like chrome a not where they used to be, because in kid mode they are blocked. when switching back they are in another place (at least that is the case for the bottom quickbar)

Re: Problem Switching Profile

Hi Boris,

for iOS, we are using a technology called mobile device management (MDM) which is similar to what companies use to manage their devices. By using this technology it allows to help parents restrict which types of applications their kids can use based on the age rating that is provided by Apple app store as well as be able to remotely disable in-app purchases and downloading new apps from the app store.

A side effect of this feature is that when apps are restricted (aka hidden on the device), it does remove any type of application icon organization that's been created on the device. so if you were to switch from a parent (where no policy is applied) to a child (where are policy is applied), then the organization of the icons will be flattened and switching between the two profiles will effectively just reorder all your apps into alphabetical order when you switch back to the parent profile.

Regardless if you are using Safe Family or not, if you were to use the Parental controls, aka "Restrictions", that Apple provides by default for each phone, and you were to make the change to hide apps based on age range, you would get the same behavior of your app management being messed up.

thank you posting your feedback here, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve how we communicate to parents what will happen to their devices.

Thanks,

E-ming
