I set up parental controls and they work great. The problem is I have very smart teenagers, and when the "web page blocked" screen shows up, it gives them instructions on how to unblock it:
"Parents, to allow this web page, please follow these instructions:"
Why on earth would you do that? Obviously if McAfee blocked the page, I got into McAfee to set it up, so I know where to find the instructions to unblock it. But now all my kid has to do is go into McAfee and follow the instructions you just gave him.
Since my McAfee Security Center is not password protected itself, is there any way I can keep my teenager from getting in there and unblocking the web sites himself?
Hi,
Are the kids logging into the computer through your same administrative account or do they have any different user account ?
Regards,
Dinesh K
It is not the administrator's account. The problem is there is a link on the bottom right side of the screen directly into McAfee Security center, and I don't know how to remove it. They can get into McAfee even though they are logged into a limited account.
Mcafee parental controls would not be enabled on adminsistrative account ; at the same time a limited user wont be able to configure the settings in parental controls.
Try making a new limited user account for the kids and set up a windows password for your account that should do it.
Thanks,
Dinesh K
You're right. It was working earlier for a limited user, but I guess it's reset now. Thank you for your help.
