Hi, how can I block downloading and installing apk files on Android device from websites ?
Hi @Otis ,
We can only block the installed application and SafeFamily do not have an option to block download/ Installation on a device.
You can block android 'Settings' app which will restrict kids from downloading and installing APK files.
OK, but I didn´t found 'Settings' in the list of Android apps in Safe family, I´m not able to block it.
You can enable the "Install unknown apps" or "Install from unknown sources" restriction in the device settings. Navigate to "Settings," then "Security" or "Biometrics and Security," and locate the option related to installing apps from unknown sources.
Disable this option to restrict the installation of apps only to the official Google Play Store. This measure enhances the safety of your device by preventing the installation of potentially harmful applications from unverified sources.
To block the installation of apps on Android devices, especially for family safety purposes, you can use various methods depending on your specific requirements and the tools available to you. Here's a general approach using Google Family Link top follow.
