I do not want McAfee removing anything from my workstation unless there are security reasons for the removal. Specifically, How to shut off or remove "Quick Clean". I've unchecked all the choices in Quick Clean settings but it still runs - Please tell me how to get rid of it? - Thanks for your help - IM

hello imageman,
if opening the blue gui version you will see below the icon cookies and threats. clicking this icon it opens a window in which you see settings and shedule
i think you have found the settings and unclicked everything.
opening now the second one named shedule, you can make a manual shedule or if you scroll to below click on 'no shedule '.
if you have marked the no shedule, it should not run the quick clean anymore......
hope this helps

in relation to usiing the quick clean future i would like to ask the following;
opening the settings window i see default settings for systemfiles and for the browsers.
under systemfiles there is an option for activeX content which is on by default to be removed.
is this option a safe choice as default to be removed using windows10 ?
Yes,as any files needed by the software are protected by "Access Protection".
hello catdaddy,
thank you for your answer. i did read that activeX is rated not to be always being safe and removing is than a logical default choice.
edit;
is activeX something that still frequently is being used by programs like Office for example nowadays or more something that was being used by older programs perhaps ?
Active x was primarily used by Internet Explorer, which has since almost discarded use of them. This is due to Security risks such as,ie Flash Player/Macromedia.
catdaddy,
thank you for the clear clarification.
