"Something went wrong, please try again later" preventing McA from opening?

I am fairly computer literate, but never wanted a smartphone. But, now I have one (Samsung A13 5G) and I'm trying to open McAfee (which appears to already be loaded on). However, there is a problem. After tapping the McA icon (McAfee Security for T-Mobile), I get "Something went wrong, please try again later."  I'm stuck here and can use some help. Thanks.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused, Kindly uninstall your McAfee and reinstall it. Activate with your phone number that you have registered with T-mobile. 

Alternatively, You can always contact the chat support using below link for immediate assistance.

I haven’t been with T-Mobile for years. I’m currently with Verizon, but have the same phone number.
