I have the 'Total Protection - 5 devices' package, which I installed on my Windows PC and also my Apple iPhone.
I recently discovered that wheras I could turn the VPN option on for my PC, I could not turn it on for my iPhone. I was previously able to do this.
Consulting with the Mcafee technical help, I was advised to uninstall Mcafee from my iPhone and reinstall it. This is where all my problems started. Over a period of over 2 hours, during which I was passed from one person to another, I was guided through several iterations on uninstall/install: Using the QR code on the PC screen. By downloading the app from Apple store. By using a link sent to me. None of these methods worked!
I would get past the download and what I had was the basic free version on my phone. When I tried to sign in, it would either not recognise that I already had a subscription and try to sell me a subscription; or another time I would reach to point where I was invited to enter my subscription code and then the next screen was completely blank.
The advisor on the other end of the call wanted to take control of my phone, but I refused. They then asked me to change some security settings, which I reluctantly did, but it still would not work.
I was finally told that there is a bug in (their?) software and that they are working on it.
I have a case number and am sending Mcafee regular requests for information, but am now not getting any reply.
This really is not good and at this rate I might not renew with Mcafee when my subscription expires, if they cannot fix it soon.
Does anyone else have this problem?
