"Install in Progress"

I am having trouble shutting down my computer and updating any apps. It continuously is saying "install in progress" for over a week now. Please help ASAP, I am having trouble resolving this issue.

I have the exact same issue on my MAC and having really difficulty trying to get McAfee tech support to help solve it.

I have the same problem. I am operating on Sonoma 14.1.2  with stable connection.  I am frequently prompted to update each day.  Update appears to hang and I have to force quit to shut down
