Total Protection 4.8 won't update to 4.9 on Catalina

That’s not entirely accurate. I have several apple computers. All of which are running Catalina and I can’t get a version newer than 4.8 installed on them. The update process runs and completes and says it was successful. Check the version and it’s still 4.8. I uninstall Total Protection completely. Download a fresh install from my McAfee account. It completes fine and still shows I’m on version 4.8.  I also have one Mac I upgraded to Big Sur. It had version 4.8 on it when I did the upgrade. McAfee then started with the constant error pop up asking to complete setup. Which it cannot. Again uninstall / reinstall still only gives version 4.8, which according to tech support this is correct at the moment. And they said 4.8 is the latest version I can get for Catalina, because the new versions have not been rolled out to everyone. Also, Tech support at first kept insisting I must have gotten my McAfee from my ISP. I finally convinced them that I am indeed an annual subscriber directly from McAfee. And that’s when they said that the latest versions for Catalina and Big Sur have not rolled out to all accounts yet.  So I am at the same point again where I can’t get beyond 4.8 and about to give up and cancel my account and look at a different product. Because this is an issue on several computers, it tells me that something is wrong with my account not pushing latest version.

Hi @dare2drum ,

In that case I can only recommend to contact the support again and see if they can check again if McAfee has released the newer versions for your affiliate (looking at your account it looks it's not a direct McAfee subscription but through a partner). If they say it's not released that I think you will have to wait until it gets released. You can also ask them to escalate the case (if possible) but I don't believe this will bring any progress.

Again, I did not purchase Total Protection through an affiliate. I went to the Mcafee site and bought a subscription. Not sure why this is so complicated.
