What is the Chromium container?

So i've seen the chromium container by McAfee running in task manager and Im wondering if it means I have a virus that has been quaranteened by liveSafe. I have not intentially installed the Chromium browser. I ran a full Scan and It says I have no Issues but Im still curious as to what the chromium container is .

I searched for chromium in my file explorer and all the files that come up are under the McAfee\ChromiumContainer directory.

I'm looking for some guidance , I hope someone can explain to me what the Chromium container is and If there ia anything I can do to remove a virus that may be responsible for jt

Re: What is the Chromium container?

Chromium is an open-source web browser project. Although Chromium project itself is legitimate, it is often misused as a platform for malicious web browsers categorized as adware and potentially unwanted programs (PUP).

Re: What is the Chromium container?

This is one of the process of McAfee and not the chromium browser or any infection. Please do not delete any McAfee folders

Re: What is the Chromium container?

But the question is, does the presence of this process mean that the Chromium application is a malware that Mcafee has "contained"/quarantined?

And if that is the case, why doesn't Mcafee remove Chromium altogether?
