McAfee LiveSafe has deleted a program file with the warning "Packed-FLA!4DA8D4437AB9", but I cannot find any explanation on the web, what kind of virus that is.

Hello @robert49
The executable file that gets decompressed during the runtime can be any kind of an exe file that will infect the machine and it cant be just a specific kind of a virus, Trojan etc.. The person who created this would have compressed any kind of Malware intended to target a particular Program, File or information on the computer.

Hello Madhan,
The file was from an older version of NERO, which I downloaded for testpurpose from the intzernet. After that virus alert I deleted all these files right away from my harddisk and I could not find any more threats after rechecking. But the question remains, what kind of virus is the one McAfee detected..
Best regards

Hello @robert49
Sorry for the delay in response.
Packed-FLA!4DA8D4437AB9 is a packed malware. A packed or repacked malware is a malware that has been modified using a runtime compression (or encryption) program...
Runtime compression programs compress an executable file and prepend or append a stub to the file containing the code to decompress it at runtime. The file that was removed with a warning falls under this malware type and hence McAfee removed it.

Dear Madham,
Thank you for your explanation and McAfee to detect that malware. To bad, zthat I deleted that file, I should have uploaded it to McAfee. Do you know what that could have done to my. Computer?
