Repetitive Pop up McAfee Security Forum heading Phone Scams

A pop-up message that seems it's generated from McAfee keeps popping up. Causes several problems:

1. For several minutes you can't close it. Mouse pointer over the 'X' at top does not change. After 4 or 5 minutes, pointer changes to 'hand' icon and you can close it.

2. As long as the pop-up is on the screen, you can't move it and it covers 20% of screen. It hides any windows underneath.

3. Footer title says, "McAfee", but is it?

4. Link says, "Learn More", but clicking goes no where.

5. Even after you finally can close it, it comes back within 10 - 15 minutes. So, in an 8 hour day, I have to close it at least 32 times BUT I have to wait 5 minutes each time. That means it interferes with my work for 160 minutes MORE THAN 2 1/2 HOURS!

It looks like a scam popup. Not sure maybe a mod can help you

If it was real that return rate would be annoying so mods should report it to fix. Never seen such a popup so try clearing cache and temp files as well as running

Watch out for phone scams targeting McAfee customers. These will often warn of infections and expired subscriptions.

Don't take the bait. Manually navigate to mcafee.com to login to verify your subscription status.
