This problem started with installing a new HP Officejet Pro 8720 printer with a Windows 10 PC.
Although the installation software detected the correct printer on the network, it nevertheless refused to install it until the Livesafe firewall was turned off. Once installation was complete, and the firewall turned on, the printer worked in all its functonality (well- nearly all).
However, everytime the PC is turned on, the printer is totally disabled and it is necessary to remove it from 'Devices and Printers', turn off the firewall, reinstall it and then turn the firewall back on.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that something in the firewall is blocking the initialisation and installation of the printer. The question is what?
For information: I have successfully installed the printer on another Windows 10 PC without problem. I cannot see any visible difference between the way the two Livesafe firewalls are configured.
Doe anyone have any solutions please.
Could you please share more details on this issue.
How is the printer connected to the PC? i.e. USB/Ethernet cable or Wireless?
The version of McAfee antivirus installed on the PC?
Cheers
Sanjay
