Preinstalled McAfee. Worth keeping?

McAfee antivirus is a wellknown name for all the wrong reasons. It's known for how terrible the software is, how bloated it is, and how hard it is to uninstall. However that reputation was earned before the McAfee name was purchased by Intel. And as far as I know, what is now known as McAfee AV isn't even related to the old software other than in it's use. McAfee LiveSafe came preinstalled on my new Lenovo laptop, and I'm just wondering if its even worth keeping. Is it actually competent software now? And if so, like I said, is it worth keeping? Because the built in protection from Windows Defender is quite good, and as far as I'm concerned, is all most people need.
