Hi. I just bought WinFTP Pro utility (by NewEdge Software) from the Microsoft Store for my windows 10 laptop. It installs fine, but upon starting the application McAfee almost immediately puts the WinFtpPro.exe file into quarantine with the message (in the quarantine): "Real Protect-PENG4!0910FCC80C5A". If I try an click "Restore" it says "Unable to restore".
Can someone tell me how to fix this or confirm that the file is virus free? I can't see any other posts on this topic on the forums, but I assume I'm not the only person who has come across this.
Thankyou in advance for any help!
Hi @astainsby
Greetings from McAfee!
McAfee allows you to exclude individual files from being scanned for viruses by the product's Real-Time Scanning feature. When you exclude known, safe files and apps from being scanned, you might see performance improvements as you use your computer. Kindly refer the below article for the steps to exclude the file from virus scan.

You can email the file to McAfee to confirm it is a virus of not

Note exclude will not stop a scan from seeing and detecting the file
