Hi All,
Regret the delay in getting back on this. The issue was confirmed to be resolved in version 16.0 R12. The latest version available currently is 16.0 R15 and this issue shouldn't be happening anymore.
Please let us know the version of McAfee in which you are still facing this isue and confirm if it is mmsshost.exe which is consuming high CPU usage.
Regards
Sanjay
Still getting high cpu usage on 16.0. R18
mouse stopping on starting etc
My mcafee is fully updated to last version. I talked to mcafee support 2 times both times they told me to reinstall mcafee completely.. i did that twice... still have the same issue. So its not fixed. I'm giving you a couple of days for you guys to fix me this s*** before i change my antivirus.
That's a bald lie!
I have switched to Norton and a year later installed back this McAffee trash with exactly the same problem with freezes.
It's infuriating how incapable their programmers are.
After many years subscribed, I let it expire due to this reason. Now I use Windows Defender and I'm NEVER coming back.
The Problem return since 01-12-19
I can't stop the service, very annoying problem
Use 98% of my RAM (32GB)
There is no reason why. 😢
Ok you really need to post your product and the version numbers as well as the affid number from the about link on the My Info tab of the interface.
This will help the mods comment and save them asking.
That said maybe just call support and if initial support cannot help ask for an escalation call back.
Another possibility is a clean uninstall and reinstall might sort the possible corrupted file out.Run the preinstall tool prior to reinstalling after McAfee removed
OMG this is still going on? Long time I never renewed my suscription, it's what it takes giving a **bleep** about your customer service.
This issue rare I have never seen any of the high cpu or memory issues in the many years running all versions since the early 2000s. That said something is clashing with the program to cause this maybe another scanner partly uninstalled that can happen but I have seen here some users who never found the cause and like you left.
I even tried to reproduce the issue working with a user when I was a helper here by installing the same programs etc but mine hummed along and his went well bad.
If the issue was common Mcafee would be on it immediately.that is why I suggested support
Don't take me wrong my friend, personally you have all my respect and I think your interest answering is encomiable. At the same time if Mcafee has so many cutomers they can afford losing a few... it's a free world. I was just kind of surprised to see an update after so long...
