Selvan, I've experienced a peculiar problem that seems to trace back to having upgraded to MOBK v2.18. I don't want to hijack this thread, so I started a new one here, and I hope you'll take a look and give me your thoughts.

I've installed the new version. I can't see any difference with speed. I watched it run today for 4 hours and made note of the files it was backing up. It backed up a total of 4 files...total size of those file is just short of 3mb. This is what I mean when I say it is too slow.

Hi tenx backing up 3MB data for 4 hours would be really annoying however I need to know if the back up was successful.

Thanks for the response.

The answer is yes and no....sorry!.  Yes it backed up those files (at least I assume so, I haven't needed/tried to restore as yet) and no, because it has 3.2 TB to get through. I don't know, you do the math...if it takes 4 hours to do 3mb then it will probably take years for 3TB to be backed up!

I also do a local backup to an external drive...that takes 4 hours or so each time. I know I can't expect an online arrangement to be that fast but I think 4hrs/3mb is way slow...at that rate I may as well run it all off on CDs and post them to McAfee, it would be way faster.

Hi tenx Let's try the below steps and see if it works,

1) Press Start button and type "cmd", you'll see command prompt at the top of the results.

2) Right click cmd and Run as Administrator

3) Type the command as follows

       netsh winsock reset

4) Reboot the machine and type the below commands in command prompt

      ipconfig /flushdns ->enter

      ipconfig /renew -> enter

5) Open MOBK configuration window and start backup.

Keep me informed with the outcome.!

Hi tenx On win 8 you can run cmd as an administrator by following these steps,

1) Press Win+C to see the charms bar

2) Click search icon and type "cmd" in the search box

3) You'll see cmd prompt icon listed in the left side - right click on the icon and you'll see run as administrator option at the bottom

Thanks again Selvan. I have no idea what you asked me to do there, but it is done! I'll let it run for the day while I'm at work - started on 44559 files backed up - I'll report the amount of files it got through.
