Dear All,
in my private network i have 1 Windows XP laptop and 1 Windows 7 Starter Edition Netbook (Samsung N150). On the Windows XP laptop i was able to install and run the Online Backup without problems. On the Windows 7 Netbook first the Windows "User Account Control" asked me whether i want to allow McAfee (..) to change my computer settings. I clicked "OK" to confirm, but neither the installation did started nor an error message appeared. I was running Windows 7 as "Administrator". Next i switched the "User Account Control" settings to the lowest possible security level and rebooted the system, but i still had the same problem.
I use "McAfee Total Protection", same Installation on both devices. All other function run without problems.
Best regards from Hamburg / Germany + thanks for any idea in advance,
Helge
Solved! Go to Solution.
I had a similar issue with Win7 Professional 64 bit.
The link Online Backup in the Data Protection and Backup drop-down does not work. A McAfee technician had me click on "C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee Online Backup\MOBKconf.exe"to start the application. I was able to set up backup and use on-line backup. I now have a shortcut on my desktop that directly runs MOBKconf.exe.
This may also work for you.

Update: The problem has been examinated by a McAfee Technician via remote control. So far there is no solution, on my both Netbooks with Windows 7 Starter Edition the Online Backup still cannot be executed. The problem ist under investigation by the 2nd Level,
